What a great traditional item this is.  Our Rattan Rug Beater is the perfect size.  It is about 20" long and the face of it is about 4 1/2" to 5 1/2" across.  Each one is a little different. We made it this size so it will easily fit into a toy bag and can also be used for a nice OTK session.

This is made with two strands of #8 quailty rattan reed, each of them over 72" long and about 1/4" in width. 

Our Rug Beaters are hand crafted in our own shop and let us tell you, they do challenge the Cane-Iac's to make them.  Rattan reed sometimes has a mind of its own, so getting these in shape is often a challenge--but we think the final results are well worth it.

We finish our Rug Beaters in a traditional way with two coats of high quality Shellac.  This Shellac gives them a really nice glossy protective finish just as the traditional ones.  The Shellac is non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

This cane costs a little bit more, but we have seen similar ones for over $30.00.  We think our price is right on the mark and well worth it.
