This is made with two strands of #8 quality rattan reed, each of them over 72" long and about 1/4" in width. 

Our Rug Beaters are hand crafted in our own shop and let us tell you, they do challenge the Cane-Iac's to make them.  Rattan reed sometimes has a mind of its own, so getting these in shape is often a challenge--but we think the final results are well worth it.  We keep the reed as natural as we can so you will see the blemishes and spots on the reed giving it a nice rustic and antiqued look.

We finish our Rug Beaters in a traditional way with two coats of high quality Shellac.  This Shellac gives them a really nice glossy protective finish just as the traditional ones.  The Shellac is non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

This cane costs a little bit more, but we have seen similar ones for over $30.00.  We think our price is right on the mark and well worth it.
